Air Filter for Marine Engines

I opted for an aftermarket concept to upgrade the air filter on our engine. I was 'never' satisfied with the flimsy 1/8" thick foam that was the filter 'wrap' on our Lehman engine so finally..............jumped in to make a 'real' filter.

This took much effort, as I had to make a manifold between the Old intake and the New Filter.  I did this with 2 layers of 3/4" plywood/sandwiched in resin/ shaved and sculpted outside but RADICALLY SCULPTED inside to change the "Flow" of air from ROUND(THE FILTER END) TO RECTANGULAR(FOR THE 'MANIFOLD END')
I did this with great care 'truly' sculpting from round to rectangle and then resurfacing the wood with Marine Tex Epoxy putty/sanding again, to make a smooooooth flow. Inside of this...I used a short length of  4" PVC pipe 'epoxied in' with Marine Tex.

No statistical data that I can show for this effort, but for me, it was a good project.
